Classic New York Bars
By classic we mean the kind of places you would picture Frank Sinatra strolling into. 21 Club’s atmosphere takes you back in time to Manhattan’s golden; it’s the classic New York City bar and grill that visitors always fall in love with, located on 52nd St. The Bar Next Door on MacDougal St. is the perfect place to hang out if you’re a jazz enthusiasts, serving excellent drinks and food in a more intimate basement, playing plenty of everyone’s jazz favorites. There are a number of classic bars and pubs in the city and half the fun is finding them.
Breweries and Beer Gardens
If you’re a guy or gal that appreciates a good brew, New York has you covered. Bier International in Harlem is a beer bar that serves up a diverse selection of African, American and European brews in a laid back setting on Frederick Douglass Blvd. Bierhaus on the other hand is a rowdy pub just steps from Grand Central. The Blind Tiger Ale House on popular Bleecker Street is a much love ale house that focuses on microbrews. The famed Brooklyn Brewery on 11th St just opens its doors for drinks 1 night a week and is a place you won’t want to miss. The Chelsea Brewing Company on pier 59 is an indoor, out-door sports bar micro-brewery that’s all about breathtaking summer sunsets. Crown Victoria on S. 2nd is a spacious, casual bar and beer garden with 24 pours on tap, complete with a bar top made out of recycled wood from New York’s Coney Island boardwalk.
Cabaret’s have a reputation of being both naughty and nice and while that may have some truth to it; they’re all about fun and highly entertaining. 54 Below on 54th St is the latest cabaret favorite of the chic Broadway set. Brandy’s Piano Bar is a fun, quirky neighborhood piano bar that draws cabaret loving tourists and regulars alike, and the bar’s own singing staff keeps the excitement going. The Duplex Piano Bar and Cabaret on Christopher St. is one of the city’s oldest cabaret theater and one of the most popular cabarets in the metropolis.

Swing 46 located on pre-theater restaurant row is a fun swing club with a fantastic dance floor, complete with a cool, retro vibe. For an over the top night club experience check out Santos Party House, S.O.B’s and Gramery Park’s Rose Bar. The Box Bar is perfect for anyone looking for a different kind of night club experience, complete with great music, surprise risqué performances and fantastic drinks, all presented in a historic theatre with its original stages still intact.
